Had to end up throwing it away after all of the attempts to save said product. I ended up voiding the return by trimming it by a thin length because they sent me the wrong size by only a small length. they do not specify in the email what voids returns. So do be careful as you can not modify the product in any shape way or form. I had found this out the hard way.iStyles responded:

Our Skins are packaged in a hard cardboard envelope that almost always ensures that the products arrive in perfect condition. Your package somehow arrived bent and opened. This does not mean that the packaging was "poor". It was opened by someone and we're guessing that the postman bent it to squeeze it in your mailbox.
We asked you for photos and were ready to get a replacement shipped to you but you replied saying that you put the Skin on and "the sticker fixed itself". As you have experienced, the Skins are flexible and minor folds do not damage it whatsoever. You were happy then and said that your laptop "now looks great".
You ordered a custom sized laptop Skin and this was cut precisely to the size specified in the order. Apparently, this was not the size you needed and you had to trim the Skin. When measuring out the dimension you want a Skin cut to, you need to measure the laptop lid physically and not use the dimensions of the laptop provided in online specifications. The dimensions of the flat surface on a laptop lid is usually slightly smaller than the overall size of the laptop. The Skin will be cut to the dimensions specified and it is important that these dimensions are correct.
A day later, you wrote in to say that you tried to re-adjust the Skin, dropped it and it is now full of dust and debris.
Given the circumstances that you have described, the product no longer qualifies for a return. However, we gave you a really huge discount coupon that you could use to get a replacement (with the right dimensions), and supported you as best as we could in our email replies with huge chunks of tips and information specific to your use case. We hope our emails and the large discount help.

Measuring the laptop directly indeed gives the correct size for the Skin cut because the actual surface dimension of the laptop lid usually differs slightly from the laptop dimensions quoted in online specifications. We're glad to hear that you managed to make the Skin work.
The Skin colors may differ from the Sleeve colors for the same design because the print process is different. Skins are digitally printed on cast vinyl and are ultra vibrant. The colors on a Sleeve are infused into the black neoprene material and will thus look a little different. The sleeve print is still of a high quality as it is; just don't compare with the Skin as the Skin will win.

I was looking to protect my Surface Studio Laptop as the paint was getting scratched when I travelled about. I looked at the basic range of templates and noticed I could make my own. I used one of my organisations desktop backgrounds as my template and I was pleased with the preview. I Was worrying about applying it but once I got started it was really easy to put on and simple enough to correct too. The end result is fantastic and and I'm regularly taking second looks at the finished job I'm that impressed.

It feels thick good quality as well so I'm not afraid my dog's nails will rip it. Only negative was shipping cost half as much as the actual product so that's why I was hesitant to buy but good product. My laptop looks much better. I got a skin for my Dell XPS 15 9560. The skin fits on the top side, but it's not cut precisely around the corners. Also, the circular cutout for the Dell logo is not centered!! I tried centering it, but the skin is just not cut properly. Disappointed considering that this skin costs as much as the skins of another laptop skins company which I had purchased skins from and loved (starts with a "D"). The only pro is that this skin seems to stick well - only time will tell...iStyles responded:
We're sorry to hear that you did not like the Carbon Dell XPS 15 9560 Skin. This Skin set does fit a Dell XPS 15 9560 but it sounds like you've applied the lid Skin incorrectly if you found the Dell logo not centered. This lid Skin is supposed to be applied such that the logo is centered first before aligning the edges.
We're guessing that you aligned an edge first and then tried to force the rest of the Skin into place. This is incorrect as you're supposed to centre the logo first (not align the Skin edge).
The lid Skin edges are not supposed to be flush against the edge of the lid as such edges will get caught up easily during use and get damaged. There is a very tiny gap between the Skin edge and the laptop lid edge (as shown in the photos below); this makes the Skin edges less vulnerable and ensures that they stay down.
Try gently peeling the Skin off and reapplying, centering the logo first before aligning the edges. If applied correctly, the Skin will look like this and it does fit perfectly:

We're sorry to hear that you did not like the Black Woodgrain Microsoft Surface Laptop Studio i5 Skin.
This Skin set covers the top outer lid and area around the keyboard as shown in the product photo. The sides and bottom of the laptop are not covered. It is important not to cover the bottom of this laptop as this is where heat is dissipated during operation. If the bottom area is covered, the laptop will not be able to "breath" as well, resulting in higher operating temperatures that can cause reduced performance and shorten electronics lifespan. We recommend using the Skin for styling and scratch protection - when you need to transport the laptop, put it in a padded sleeve (matching designs available) or bag. The bottom of the laptop does not require a Skin as it's usually facing a surface (eg, on a table), it does not come into direct contact with this surface (will not get scratched) because of the rubber feet on the bottom and people rarely see this surface as it's either on the table or packed in a bag.
Though we've not seen this issue ourselves, we had one other customer who had issues with the screen not staying completely flat in tablet mode and we're guessing that this may be due to the tight tolerance in the build of the lids of some Microsoft Surface Laptop Studio i5 units. We do have a statement on our product page stating that this can happen. Our Skins are ultra thin because of the premium cast vinyl used but such lids are so tight that adding even a thin layer in between prevents the mechanism from folding flat. The only solution for such lids is to remove one or both outer lid Skins.
Our printers print at high resolutions but the perceived "quality" of the image very much depends on the artwork itself. In this case, the Black Woodgrain design simulates the look of the wood grain. It looks great and is a very popular design. However, we do understand that if you're examining it up close, the design may not appear as brilliant as some of the others in our collection. Black Woodgrain is supposed to be understated and simulate the look of wood, even if it's not real wood.
We're sorry that this did not work out.
Update: The bottom half of the lid Skin is now cut slightly shorter so that tablet mode will work better on Surface Studio lids that are tighter.

If bubbles "form" after a while, it means that little pockets of air were trapped under the Skin during Skin application. This can be avoid during Skin application by pressing the Skin down from inside/centre out, but if air does get trapped, just massage these air pockets to the edge using your fingers so that the air can "escape" at the edge. The weaved adhesive of the Skin makes it easier to massage these out, but if the air is still stuck, gently peel the Skin to where these air pockets are, press them out, and paste the Skin back from inside/centre out.

There can indeed be a slight smell from the Skin when it's first removed from the envelope because these are freshly made at the production facility and packed straight after production. The smell, if any, goes away fairly quickly (within hours). It's not possible that the Skin is still off-gassing a year after. I guess that vinyl may have a smell up close if you are sensitive to it, but I just sniffed a couple of old Skins and could not detect anything.
Thank you for the suggestion regarding the tablet front Skin but we've not found any tool that will make the application of the front tablet frame Skin easier than it currently is. Applying the Skin is just a matter of aligning and pasting. Start by aligning the important elements such as the the camera/sensor holes and buttons first, then align the rest. Our Skins come with a special adhesive that allows for repositioning during the application process. If you are not happy with the alignment, just gently peel off and realign. Press down all around on the Skin only after you're happy with the alignment.

iStyles/5I purchased both a decal and a neoprene sleeve for the Microsoft Surface Laptop 3 13.5" and have minimal issues with both. The decal for the lid and the wrist rest both fit really well, I'm super happy about it, I love the quality. The bottom decal was the same size as the lid decal, but the edges of the laptop are tapered in, meaning there's no way it fits. I had to cut around the holes for the feet to apply it, and the decal hangs off on both the right and left sides, just enough to be annoying. I got the composition notebook decal, and my personal feedback would be to remove the white box with "composition" from the bottom decal to look more like an actual composition notebook. The neoprene case looks really nice, but is made for a laptop that's taller with the lid closed than this one. The case is not snug, there's a lot of extra space, which wasn't really what I was looking for, but it turns out there's no real options for a customizable neoprene sleeve that fits snug for this laptop that I can find right now online, so this will do.A. The whole process of placing the order to receiving the product went to schedule. It was more beautiful than expected and easy to fix although it was useful to watch a tutorial on you tube. I also bought a matching case to use when I travel. Overall, extremely happy and I am not easily pleased!

Your order was received on 26 March and shipped on 27 March. During normal times, while USA to UK deliveries can happen in just 1+ week, it usually takes between 1 to 3 weeks and can sometimes take as long as 4 to 6 weeks in rare cases when there are delays in the postal services. We wish we can make the delivery happen more quickly but the actual delivery time very much depends on how quickly the postal services route the package.
These days are however not normal times. Postal services and international flights are operating at reduced capacity because of covid-19 and this may affect the delivery time. International postal mails ride on commercial flights and because most of these were grounded, it takes longer than usual for shipment to the destination country as every package/mail has to squeeze onto whatever few flights there are left.
According to the package tracking, your package left the USA on 28 March as it went through the international distribution centre. We noticed that there were severe delays for UK shipments that were shipped in the later half of March. These packages were routed through other countries because of the limited flights available and were taking longer than usual to arrive.
Shipments after in April appear to be fine - a recent review was posted by another British customer who received his package in just 3 business days (shipped 17 April, delivered 22 April).
It's also possible that Royal Mail attempted to deliver your package:
1) Please check your account page to ensure that your delivery address is correct. If you're not certain, please send us an email at hello@istyles.com to check.
2) Try checking at the nearby post office. Your package will be rather large as it contains a MacBook Skin and it is likely that the postman could not fit it into your mailbox. He should have left a note for the collection of this package from the nearby post office but this note is sometimes misplaced. Please drop by the post office that services your area, quote USPS delivery id LJ594392315US and ask if they have a package for you. Explain that it will be a large and flat cardboard envelope that might not have fitted in your mailbox. Post offices usually keep such mails in a 'undeliverable drawer'.
If your package is not there, it means that they have not finished routing the mail to you. Such deliveries usually happen within 1 to 3 weeks but it can take longer because of covid-19 disruptions.
Please send us an email at hello@istyles.com if you do not receive this package by 15 May. We will ship another package to you if it does not arrive by this date.

Thank you for your understanding that the damage to the package was caused by the postman, not us. It is amazing that he/she can still blatantly fold the envelope despite the cardboard packaging and very prominent "do not bend" sticker.
As per our email correspondence, we suggested applying the Skin as the Skin material itself is extremely resistant (and flexible), and any 'damage' on the Skin is just on the paper backing card and not on the Skin itself. Any ceases on the Skin can be easily smoothed out to perfection during application - the Skin is only properly damaged if it is cut or stretched.
If the Skin was badly damaged and this damage is still visible after application, we requested in our email correspondence that you send us photos. You do not have to return the damage product (as is the standard policy for any other company). You just have to send us photos and we will send you a replacement. As we did not hear from you, we assumed that all went well and that you managed to smooth out the Skin perfectly.

iStyles/5Very Happy with my new skin for my Dell XPS15. The only detail that was overlooked was the cutout for the fingerprint reader. I had to use masking tape and a razor blade to cut it out. Even being careful and delicate I still managed to put a tiny scratch on on finger print reader. Fortunately the scratch is not very obvious and doesn’t impact functionality but my cutout doesn’t look like a precision cutout. Otherwise it goes on easily and looks great.M. Thank you for the review. The Coffee Break Dell XPS 15 9560 Skin does not indeed come with the fingerprint scanner cutout as this Skin set is for the model "without the fingerprint scanner".
Skins can however indeed be modified easily with a penknife. We'll however suggest measuring out precisely where to cut before making the cut on the Skin when the Skin is still on the backing card (before applying the Skin) but we're glad to hear that you managed to do it after the Skin application with your laptop relatively unharmed.

I really liked my laptop skin. It fit perfectly and I like that I was able to remove it and adjust it after not placing it perfectly the first time. I was initially worried that it would not stick and that the corners would be unsticking after using it but I've had it for about 3 weeks and it has really stuck to my laptop.

Skins are premium quality decals that feature stunning, high-resolution graphics printed on premium grade adhesive-backed cast vinyl. Skins look like they're part of your laptop and protects the covered surface from scratches.
More importantly, it is important never to enclose a laptop in a case. Computing devices can become hot and they need to dissipate heat during operation. If the laptop is enclosed in a case, the device will not be able to "breath" as well, resulting in higher operating temperatures that can cause reduced performance and shorten electronics lifespan.

iStyles/5I bought a MacBook Pro 13" NON-Retina skin for my late 2011 MacBook Pro 13". The skin description states that it would fit all 13" non-retina MacBook Pros. However, the skin did not fit edge to edge- it was too small. In fact, it left almost a centimeter of exposed case all around its perimeter. It looks awful that way- very ill fitted- so I just threw it out. In addition, I purchased the exterior only skin expecting both a top and bottom skin to cover the exterior of my MacBook, but instead i received only the top skin. We're sorry to hear that you were not happy with the Skin. The "Outer Skin only" (not "Skins") option for the White Marble MacBook Pro 13" Skin that you purchased only comes with the lid Skin. The bottom of the MacBook Pro 13" gets hot during operation and it is important to allow this surface to breath. This bottom area is rarely seen as it is against the table and it's protected from scratches by its rubber feet.
The large lid Skins are not cut to fit absolutely precisely with zero tolerance. There're cut very slightly smaller (1 to 2 mm all around) to allow for slight stretching during the application. The Skin has to be centered on the lid (around the Apple logo) and if applied without stretching, will result in a silver "frame" of the artwork. If the Skins are cut precisely to the lid size, most people will end up with Skin edges that overhang the edge. A slightly smaller cut allows for a more "forgiving" Skin application. In fact, if you're careful, you can very gently stretch the whole piece into place for a perfect fit during the Skin application, but it's easiest to simply centre it.
We want our customers to be happy with the products and we're sorry to hear that you were not. We've processed a full refund for your order. I hope that this is an acceptable resolution.

Skin Application
The MacBook inner Skins are precision cut to cover the area around the keyboard - the complexity and large size of this surface does make Skin alignment a little more tricky but the final effect when it's done properly is well worth the effort. What we generally do during Skin application is to first align the Skin to the major physical cutouts, and in this case, that will be the trackpad area. Peel the whole inner Skin off and start with the bottom half; hold the Skin at both ends of the wrist rest area and gently position until it aligns perfectly to the trackpad. One trick will be to keep the top half (the thin stripes that go beside the keyboard) folded back over the bottom half such that the stripes do not get stuck on your MacBook when you're positioning the bottom half. Once you've aligned the trackpad, everything else will fall in place with a little guidance.
Do not press the Skin down until you are happy with the alignment - this makes it easier to reposition the Skin if the first alignment attempts fail.
When you're happy with the alignment, start pressing the Skin down firmly from the inside out so that bubbles will not get caught. Even if bubbles do get caught, they can be pressed out with a finger as the Skin comes with a special weaved adhesive that allows for air pockets to be "massaged" out.

Bottom Skin
The Outer/Inner Combo MacBook Air 13" Skin sets will cover the lid and area around the keyboard on your MacBook but they will not include a bottom Skin. You can technically purchase another "Outer lid" Skin and make cuts manually for the rubber feet on the bottom of your MacBook but we will not recommend doing so. The unibody construction of the MacBook acts as a heat sink and helps to dissipate heat during operation. If the bottom area is covered, the MacBook will not be able to "breath" as well, resulting in higher operating temperatures that can cause reduced performance and shorten electronics lifespan.
We recommend using the Skin for styling and scratch protection - when you need to transport the MacBook, put it in a padded sleeve (like the one you purchased too) or bag. The bottom of the MacBook does not require a Skin as it's usually facing a surface (eg, on a table), it does not come into direct contact with this surface (will not get scratched) because of the rubber feet on the bottom and people rarely see this surface as it's either on the table or packed in a bag.

The package was in a nice evenlope with carboard inside that was very stabe. I was worried about it getting bent in shipping but everything worked out great with no problems and definantly will be back to check the new products and purchase differnt things my different devices.
As far as the insallation part I bought a skin for my Microsoft surface three and it took less than 10 min to install and everything has stuck great no peeling in the 7 days i have had it on there (I am a full time student and i use this computer every i go and in these 7 days I cant count how many time it been thrown in the book bag) and everthing looks like I put it on yestday.
All and all i really recommend any of these products they are very high quality and made my laptop look brand new at a distace no one will ever know that it is jus a skin it fit really great everywherr will ease.

Delivery didn't take long.
After receiving the product I was positively surprised with how good it actually looks.
You can say just from looking at it that it was printed just few days ago and they even sent it (the sticker) not cut out but with whole surroundings so you may use those pieces for anything you want.
It's really great because they added small sticker for MacBook charger too.
It's incredible how well it lies on the surface of my MacBook body especially considering the fact that I had many really deep scratches on it.
The only thing if I may say was a negative surprise. I don't know if I'm supposed to stretch it strong but it doesn't really cover whole surface of my MacBook . It lacks about 2mm on each side.

Thank you for the review. The MacBook Skins are cut very slightly smaller so that they're easier to apply. The MacBook Retina 15-inch is rather large at 35.89cm x 24.71cm - if the Skin is cut precisely to fit and a customer accidentally stretches the Skin by a little, it will result in an overhanging Skin edge (which is worse). The Skin can be stretched gently into place to cover the last 1 to 2mm for an absolutely perfect fit if you wish but it's all right to leave your Skin application as it is because this tiny gap is not visible compared to the overall Skin size and it helps reduce the possibility of the Skin edge getting caught and damaged.
We're glad that the package arrived quickly, and that you liked how the Skin covered the deep scratches on your MacBook and how good the Skin looks on the whole.

In my case, "two-day priority" shipment took more than a week to arrive - the order addressed to a Virginia address came to Pennsylvania and then was diverted to Alabama (??) before making its way to Virginia. As a result, the package missed my kid's birthday and obviously didn't have the effect it was meant to. iStyles should probably drop USPS and use commercial carriers (without 50% premium to the item price). We have different shipping options available, ranging from USPS First-class that starts from just $2 but takes between 1 to 3 weeks for delivery, to UPS Express that takes just 1 business day for delivery but can be costly (because they are a private courier service). The USPS Priority shipping option that you selected is a good compromise between the two as it only cost a few dollars more than First-class but they're still relatively quick. Ignore the "2-day" claim on USPS' website as that is misleading and we never advertise it as such - USPS Priority usually takes between 3 to 5 business days for delivery and the "estimated shipping date" that we quote at checkout on our site reflects this turnaround time.
1 to 2 business days are indeed required for the production of an order as all Skins and Cases are freshly baked and ship directly from the production facility. Your order was received on Thursday night (2 April), the warehouse was close over the weekend, the package was shipped on Monday morning (6 April) and delivered on the Monday after (13 April). This is within the estimated delivery time quoted when you checked out. If you placed the order a day earlier (on Wednesday), you probably would have avoided hitting both weekends - the package would have shipped on Friday and would have been delivered between 8 to 10 April.

Skins are sturdy and will usually outlast the device if applied properly but they can stretch if pulled too hard during the application process. The inner MacBook Skins are more difficult to apply as you've experienced because of their large size and thin stripes, but the final result will be well worth the effort. The trick is simply not to press the Skin down until you are happy with the alignment, and to peel off gently if you need to reposition, especially so at the thin Skin areas (such as those around the trackpad).

iStyles/5Bought a carbon fiber skin for my macbook pro 13 retina without cutout for the top logo. Ordered outer and inner skins. Expected there would be a bottom, but since it's not pictured I should have known better. Fit on the top is not good. I was able to center it on the top fine, but there is absolutely no way to get it on the top without leaving a very small border around all four edges. It's simply just a mm or two too small in all directions. Also even though the skin covers the logo, the skin is not fully opaque and the logo glows through it. It looks very bad. 1) The "Outer" MacBook Skin does not cover the bottom because it is important to allow the device to "breath" during normal operation. This bottom area gets hot and the unibody acts as a heat sink - if it is covered, the heat will not be able to dissipate properly. The description states coverage for the top for the outer Skin and the area around the keyboard and trackpad for the inner Skin. We recommend using a Skin for styling and protection of the scratchable unibody during normal operation and when transporting the MacBook, put it in a padded sleeve or bag.
2) The Skin is opaque but the MacBook logo glow will be visible softly in very dim light conditions. Most customers like this effect and this is only visible in dim lighting. (the logo can be cut out for full visibility)
3) The top Skin will fit. If it's just an mm off on yours (out of the huge surface area on the lid Skin), it means that the Skin can be better stretched into place during the application process.

I can recommend spraying a fine mist of water on large surfaces before applying the skins. That way it is easy to adjust it right after the application. When it is perfect, just use a soft cloth to work out all the air pockets and water, starting from the center and working towards the edges. After everything is smooth, leave the product alone for some hours before using it. Works like a charm!

iStyles/5I said I would buy a skin for my MacBook Pro 13' Unibody and I did. The colors were incredibly brilliant. I only wish that I could have done a more decent job of applying the cover to the outside shell-I got little pockets of air stuck underneath and when I went to readjust it, it only stretched out the skin some. On the other hand, the inner skin for the keypad worked just fine. The sizing was off my centimeters and I managed to apply it so that not all of the microphone and power button were covered up.
